About the Event

Join neighbors for the Peabody Blooming + Clean Up Initiative, an Earth Month volunteer event focused on transforming the garden’s perimeter through planting, cleanup, and care.

Launched in 2026, this initiative responds to reduced maintenance along the corridor and brings the community together to support the space through native plant installation, invasive species removal, and hands-on stewardship.

On April 25 from 9:30 am - 1 pm, we’re aiming to bring together 20–30 volunteers for a single-day transformation of the perimeter edge. No experience needed—just come ready to dig in and make a visible impact.

Snacks and pizza will be provided for all volunteers.

This is a bonus Spring Clean Up Week event. Join us to extend the impact beyond the week and support beloved Peabody Community Garden. Read more about Spring Clean Up Week at www.springcleanupweek.com.

👋 Hi, I'm Erin Palmer! I started Spring Clean Up Week in 2021 as a way to give my Monsters something to do over spring break. It's blossomed thanks to amazing neighbors like you and supporting organizations like the League of Women Voters DC and East Rock Creek Village. 📣 Did you know? Spring Clean Up Week is award winning, highlighted as part of the District Department of Energy & Environmetnt's District Sustainability Awards.
