Spring Clean Up Week 2026: April 11th-19th

We still have space for additional cleanups on Monday, April 13; Tuesday morning, April 14; Wednesday afternoon, April 15; and Thursday morning, April 16. If you are interested in hosting, please complete THIS FORM. If you are interested in co-hosting an existing cleanup, please CONTACT US.

Many cleanups include a social gathering afterward, offering a chance to connect with neighbors over food and conversation. Several hosts offer no- or low-cost options, and we work to help cover food wherever possible so events remain welcoming and accessible. Please check event links for specific details on the social component of each cleanup.

New This Year: We’ll be using the Department of Energy and Environment’s Litter Data Card at cleanups to collect standardized data on litter. This helps strengthen the evidence base for current and future law, policy, and funding related to waste and public space.

We’re grateful to continue collaborating with longtime partners League of Women Voters DC and East Rock Creek Village, whose leadership and steady commitment have helped make this week such a meaningful tradition. This year, we’re also excited to expand our footprint, including with ​a field trip from Takoma DC to join Ward 8 Woods Conservancy for a Shepherd Parkway cleanup and a new cleanup opportunity in Ward 5.
